We may have only been running since 2020, but we’re no strangers to putting smiles on people’s faces. I’m Irene, founder of Never Miss a Gift, and I spent over 30 years creating beautiful flower and plant arrangements for all sorts of occasions.
I started Never Miss a Gift for the same reason as becoming a florist – to help more people enjoy that extra special feeling of receiving gifts in the post. I also wanted to offer a better shopping experience for gift givers, one that’s quicker, more affordable and more enjoyable.
All of our self-care goodies are handmade and beautifully packaged from our studio kitchen in Scotland. We put in our heart and soul to create a luxurious selection of candles, wax melts, and bath and body products, as well as pre-made and custom gift boxes.

Our Story
A change of direction
Back in January 2020, Irene Dolla was visiting her son Marc in Australia when the global pandemic hit. With the world turned upside down and no way of getting back home to Glasgow, she soon started to feel isolated. While chatting with a friend on the phone, Irene started thinking about how uplifting it would be to receive some self-care goodies in the post.
Meaningful gestures
Irene had considered setting up her own gifting business long before Australia. Her mother had spent many years in a care facility and while it was wonderful to receive gift hampers from family members who lived overseas, they weren’t always practical for her needs. Irene often found herself wondering what she’d have put in to help with her mother’s needs.
Practical and personal gifts
Australia was the final push Irene needed. She set about researching and learning everything she could about the art of soap, bath and body product making. Eleven months later and with a number of online courses under her belt, Never Miss a Gift was born. Irene and her team sell self-care products for all occasions and ensure everything from their candles to gift boxes are all handmade with love and care.

Helping combat climate change
That’s right. We donate 5% of all company profits to the Plant a Tree Foundation, a North England charity that plants trees in urban areas and helps the UK offset its carbon emissions. Their projects not only benefit the environment, but they also lead to more local employment opportunities, an increase in biodiversity and the creation of wildlife habitats. Since 2006, the charity has planted over three million trees and we’re thrilled to be supporting them.
Kind to your skin, kind to the planet
We care about the impact that our products have on the people using them and the world around us. That’s why we only use natural, vegan ingredients and make small batches from our workshop in Glasgow. All of our products are free from parabens, sulphates, harmful preservatives and SLS. Don’t worry, we’re plastic-free and any packaging we do use is biodegradable and recyclable. And of course, we never test on animals.
Meet Our Team
Irene Dolla - Creative Director
After spending 30 years in floristry, Irene decided to put all her knowledge of colours, scent and creative gift packaging into a fresh new concept, Never Miss a Gift. For Irene, nothing beats making beautiful gifts and seeing the finished product - especially when she knows it'll make the recipient's face light up. She creates and tests recipes for products, choosing colours to bring harmony to the products, and creating labels for the finished items and gift boxes.
Lisa Roe - Accounts
Lisa is a valued member of the team with fantastic admin experience. She keeps all of our legal information up to date, including the legal requirements needed for the products we create. She then makes sure products are labelled correctly as per government guidelines, as well as taking care of our banking, invoicing, and shipping of orders. When it's time to update the website with new products, we know we can rely on Lisa's meticulous attention to detail and organisation.
Elizabeth Byrne - Product Assistant (Volunteer)
Elizabeth is Irene's sister and has a career background helping people with sensory impairments. Now retired, Elizabeth helps out for the business three days a week. She uses her past experience to help us cater for people who are visually impaired through bright colours and enchanting scents, as well as easy-to-read labels and packaging. Elizabeth's skills go much further and she assists in the making of the products too.
Louise Ford - Head of Sales
Irene's daughter Louise splits her time between working in a hospital's pharmacy and the Never Miss a Gift workshop. Louise is known for her bubbly and friendly personality which shines through when she's chatting to customers about our products and often leads to new sales. As an amazing advocate for the Never Miss a Gift brand, it made sense to promote Louise to our Head of Sales.
Maddison Ford - Creative Assistant
Maddison is Irene's granddaughter and a part-time team member. When she's not studying in Fifth Year and working towards her goal of a career in medicine, she can be found in our workshop on the weekends. Maddison puts her excellent knowledge of science and maths into practice by calculating all of our ingredients. Since the age of five, she's picked up crafting skills from her Grandma and as well as making soap, she can also knit, sew, bake and cook!
Holly Gallagher - Trainee ProductionAssistant
Holly has been Maddison's school friend since they started Primary 1 together. She's now a Fifth Year student with a love of all things creating. Her duties include designing, printing and cutting all of the labels for our products, which requires careful attention to detail as there are so many scents with different ingredients and individual batch numbers. When Holly's not keeping our labels in line with strict government guidelines, she helps us make soaps and candles.
